I finally got around to putting new caps in my allisons and cant believe the difference its made. They sounded pretty darn good before the recap, but now they sound a heck of a lot smoother. It always seemed there was a slight harshness to the highs before the recap, everything is more open, bass is more pronounced, the highs are incredibly clear with no sharp edges. Im glad i finally got up the nerve, my ears are quite happy:music: I used the precision audio caps by dayton. Thanks for listening, just wanted to share my experience...

Always good to hear about a successful job well done! Diving in and getting to work on something you've never done is a lot of fun in between the scary bits. You learn a lot about what you're doing and your self at the same time. Glad them tunes are rocking!

Have a pair of CD7. Guess I'll have to try that. I too felt they were on the bright side and you have confirmed this. Cool.
