Hi to all,i have a pair of xr16 speakers from mcintosh (1983) that been reconed, the next step is recapping all capacitors,i just bought a digital capacitance meter and to my suprise all caps are the same value or within + 2 % tolerance and for the electrolytics 8 to 10% more of value ex:value of 50mf reading 55 mf,all caps were also tested with a esr meter and all reading very low,my question is do i still need to recap?

I wouldn't bother.

Since it is common for the cheesy wire clips to fail I replace them with new 5 way binding posts and replace the electrolytics while I have the speaker apart.

The Zobel electrolytics I think are the most needed upgrades with modern electrolytics.

Make sure to check the mid domes while you are working on them. DC resistance should be around 9.5 ohms.
