Received my pcl-S Denon S arm / head shell

OK I received my Denon S arm today and also the head shell that I purchased. I’m not sure if I’ve got the right one, (head shell) though. I’ve only had a straight arm since I’ve owned the system, here’s some pics…, help please! The head shell is from LP Gear, it’s the “Zupreme head shell”. I’m still green about a lot! :/ Seems like the head shell should just pop into the arm? But I thought I’d ask.

Okay, how does it connect? I don't want to force anything. The end of S tube just seems to "spin"

Tightening it while the headshell is inserted should pull the headshell in snug, by tugging on the short vertical pin on the headshell barrel. Not much force should be required.

GOT IT! I was clueless, but now I see!!!

So this is a set screw on the arm itself?

I meant tightening the part on the arm tube that "seems to spin". A spiral track inside pulls on the vertical pin. The set screws visible on the arm tube just hold the ends in, I believe. If your headshell has adjustable azimuth ('tilt'), the screw on the bottom of the headshell clamps around the barrel, which is allowed to turn when loose.

Tighten the headshell onto the arm and put the arm on the turntable and lower it onto a record. If the headshell is not level you can sometimes loosen that screw a little to twist the headshell to level and retighten the screw. Best not to play with it though.
