Receiver and Speakers Compatibility

Hello,

Fairly a novice when it comes to vintage gear. Currently have Lafayette SK-300 speakers. 8 ohms and 25 watts. I’m thinking of getting a Kenwood KR-2400 receiver. I believe that it outputs 16 Watts. Some places online say 20 watts, but I’m gonna stick with 16. Also 8 ohms. Will this receiver work with my speakers? Affect sound at all? I appreciate any help that I can get! In addition, I have an Impro PE 3060 turntable. I don’t believe it matters, but will this also be compatible with the receiver?

Thanks everyone! Yea it’s not the greatest setup but overall, if I get this receiver, I’ll have spent $160 for the whole system :) so I’m VERY happy with the setup. Plus, the bass on those SK-300’s is pretty awesome! Again, thanks so much for the warm welcome!

I hope ya fall in love with the sound. It can happen.

Thanks so much! Currently restoring a cabinet I got at a local goodwill for $15. Will be using it for the setup and storage of records. Once that’s done, I will be posting pics of everything!
