From that list, I'd take the SX-750, at 50WPC. But I'd look for a higher powered receiver, you can get a lot more out of the HPM 100 than any of those units will give you.

Also, the TX-8100 on your list is a tuner, not a receiver.

Sounds like a good deal. Market value of that unit is double that. Make sure you can demo it. I would prefer buying local because you can see the item, and try it.

I got my first set of HPM-100s in a package deal with a Onkyo TX-4500MKII. The two sounded great together but went separate ways. The HPMs went straight to MY "C" system while I deoxed and fixed lights on the Onkyo. My ( very basic) "C" system consists of a Pioneer SX-3700 and a CD player. The HPMs sound good powered by the SX-3700, but could probably use a few more watts. When I get some time I'll try the HPMs out with the "B" system listed below. I think that the Yamaha CR-1040 will be displaced by the Onkyo in the near future as the CR series receivers are supposedly on borrowed time.
