At a local thrift where I usually find nothing I came across a pair of Altec 890C's.
Cabinets are "OK"at best but drivers are perfect as are the grills. $10.00 for the pair. By the way is there a cure for this addiction? I cant seem to stop myself.Yesterday I picked up a pair of Advent baby II's which are perfect for $10.00. I need help collection is growing out of control.

It's like growing tomatoes in the garden. The first couple of dozen are wonderful, then you put up some for later, and then you begin to get overwhelmed. So, you start trying to give them away. After your friends and neighbors have had enough, you start sneaking onto people's porches and leaving them anonymously.

Great analogy!

doctor b. if you want i'll give you my address and porch dimentions lol. over the last couple months i've collected 15-16 pairs of speakers. i still have 11 pairs HELP!!!!!!!.

So far, I've only given away one pair and a sub. Another pair is ready to go when I get the receiver that goes with them up and running. I figure that if I resolve to only give these things away I won't be tempted to buy them on the ruse that I'll fix 'em and flip 'em.

My problem is that when I see a pair that just needs a little work like new surrounds and some steel wool and tung oil, it's hard to just leave them sitting there at the thrift or in someone's yard.

Step 1. We admitted we were powerless over vintage stereo equipment—that our collections had become unmanageable.
