Recognize these "Advent"s?...

Sorry for making this my first post, but anyone recognize these Advents (at least that's what they're supposed to be) The grill doesn't look like others I've seen, the cans appear to have small "legs" on them and there are no badges. It's the only photo I have... I don't know...

here's more... Seller claims these are the original boxes for them. Trying to get more info/pics, but until then I'm stumped...

I'd bet on really early OLA.
Everyone gets confused because they were simply named "The Advent Loudspeaker"

I don't believe those are Advents. The seller probably had/found the boxes and knew that Advents were worth more than what he's actually got. Or could be honestly confused.
I think I agree with you. I'm going to try to solve this "mystery" and find out what they actually are today.

Didn't get any more pics, but the seller (a guy at a fleamarket), said that they are in fact University speakers and that he'd been misled by the guy he got them from. I don't know much about University and couldn't find any like these online except for the grill cloth. The cabinets seem sort of crude to me, but they're interesting none the less...

Some of those University speakers are quite nice. If you can get a peek at the drivers, I'd bet someone here could tell you whether the speakers are desirable or not.

Open em up and look at the speakers,,, OLA speakers are easy to recognize, they aren't Advent cabs, tho... and Univerity's are pretty good also,,, I used a12" in a Champ clone I built,,, sounds awesome...

I saw those speakers in Concord NC not far from my house and passed as they were not Advent cabinets. I didn't need any more speakers. My wife did buy me a Tie for $1.00. Many of his items are very overpriced.

Hmmm, University eh?

I had a set about that size that were just ratted out.
Nice drivers.

For cheap they would be worth bringing home if you like sweet mellow listening.
ROCK!!?, Not so much.
