Hey all. I like tape sometimes, and I have a decent tape library of both 1/2 track and 1/4 track formats. What I don’t own is a machine capable of playing both.
Swapping machines is a bit ridiculous after a while, it’s become a seasonal thing lol. Don’t have the space or the inclination for two machines at once.
A late series Otari is an obvious choice, but kind of ugly in the Otari way. I’ve my eye open quite a while locally for one and nada, and I don’t want one of these shipped.
Anyone here run a nice dual format machine, Tascam, smaller Studer, anything I don’t know of? Wife doesn’t care one way or the other as long as it’s not an ugly eyesore.
Has to have vertical run capability, and bridge meters that are removable as I don’t want those either. Don’t need record capability, reproduce only is fine. Budget dependent on machine. Be interested to hear if anyone has used/currently uses a machine like this— thanks in advance!
