Recommendations for a small tuner

I am trying to find a tuner to pair with a Lafayette LA-25. There is limited space where I'm putting it, so it can't be deeper that about 8.5". Any recommendations for decent small tuners out there? I'm open to any brand. Thanks!

The Toshiba 335 is shallow ( 8.5" from back to knob face) and performs rather well. Standard width, of course. They usually are found as a set with their preamp and power amp. Sometimes they come up individually on the auction site. An analog tuner, series one has meters, series two, LEDs.

By the way, welcome to the Audiokarma forums.

Thank you both!

It probably clashes with the look and feel you're after, but the Sony XDR-F1HD is widely regarded as one of the best DX tuners ever, and while opinions about its sound vary, I find it to be a decent - not great, but decent - listen.

why not get a Lafayette tuner like the LT-725A? These two pieces were the center of my first system purchased new in 1976, my oldest son now has them along with the Canton Plus S speakers and matching passive Plus C subwoofer. Still cranking out some sweet tunes almost 50yrs later, awesome build quality.

I don't have it here to measure for dimension but at a guess I would say 11" wide by 8" deep:dunno:

Duh. My Magnum Dynalab FT-11 is full-size width, but not very deep (7 inches). Some people find MDs to be over-rated. I like mine. The FT-11s tend to be reasonably priced on ebay.
