Recommendations for basic CD player with digital out

Tascam CD-200, or
Yamaha CD-S300
depending on your budget

Just responded about this in another thread. I have a decent DAC as well and was looking for same thing you are. Little investigation had me buying a Sony DVP-S9000ES. Super transport in a 28 lb unit. I don't have it yet so cannot say more than that but was Sony's best in late 1990's. It's an oldie and hopefully a goodie. I did see you can buy replacement laser units so if that becomes an issue I know I'm covered there. Have had good luck using Toshiba DVD players as transport for many years now. The Sony is just a stab at trying to find an awesome transport cheap. Good luck.

The title says it all. I am looking for a basic (read: single disc and relatively inexpensive) CD player with a digital output. I have a nice outboard DAC with optical and coaxial digital inputs so I don't need a lot of the fancier analog electronics.

Suggestions?

The Onkyo sounds and look great. I plugged mine to an iPod HI-FI and I´m loving it!
