recommendations on speaker stands

I'm looking for speaker stands for my Large Advents and ADS L720's. Ideally, looking for wood stands that will match the vintage look of these speakers and take them off the ground at least a few inches. Any suggestions/advice on where to look and what to look for? Sites? Anyone make nice custom stands for vintage?

I second that. You'll get stands at the height you prefer, with wood that can be matched to your speakers very accurately. Not to mention it will be alot cheaper than buying decent stands, much less decent wooden stands.

I beleive this is the default design for first time diy stand makers. Mine were a variation on this.

pine planks (1" x spkr size) cut to make a plain box X" high is more than enough. Stain or paint your choice. I made a pair that way and also have a store bought from craigslist 21" stand type, good for smaller 2way bkshlvs.
the ones I made replaced milk crates for floor standing spkrs.

PS: nothing storebought will match YOUR spkrs. Mostly black. And the prices are WOWWEEE!.
