Just got a kit to recone one of my Eminence Lab 12 subs.Voice coil - surround-spider already attached to the cone.Came with a full round shim for centering.
Question is too glue spider down first & let dry before doing surround or can both be done at once?

When I recone, I wait for the spider glue to dry. My concern is if I don't wait, when lifting the edge of the surround to apply the glue under it, I might disturb the gluing of the spider (even with shim still in place) and thus the alignment of the voice coil.

Indeed, patience is a virtue! :-)
