I've never heard of this before, but my local shop has decided to celebrate it this year. Saturday April 17th is the date. There's a web page too. Anyone else have a shop nearby that's taking part?

My shop's supposed to have a Buddy Guy 12" reissue (I think it was a Vangard recording), and a 7" of the new Deftones single held back for that day. I'll be there 30 minutes before the doors open just for those.
 
Record Store Day has been around for a couple years at least. The bigger shops around here usually do something cool.

Yikes! Maybe I'll just get one for now. I hate pre-ordering for anything more than $25 or so. I forget that the money's supposed to be withdrawn and then I get smacked with and overdraft fee.

I sure wish they would go back and remix/master these too. I dig the music, but the rampant over-compression is almost sickening at times.
