I've never noticed a difference in sound using different brand rectifiers.
Don't buy a JJ brand GZ34/5AR4 though. They don't tend to last. I had one fail.
Tungsol, TAD, seem to be well liked for durability when it comes to new manufacture. I've been using a TAD in an amp known for being hard on 5AR4's and its held up just fine so far. Unlike the JJ that put on a light show.
