Rectilinear iii highboys

Hi everyone, New to the group so bare with me and my apologizes if I'm regurgitating old discussions. I have a pair of what seem to be 1968 rectilinear iii highways with the Jenson woofer. My questions are, does anybody have any service manuals on this by any chance. Also the only replacement woofers I could find where 16 0hms. Was this standard in these speakers? I did read some of the old threads and It looks like snade had a manual posted, but I couldn't access it. Perhaps the link was too old. One last thing, can the old peerless tweeters be rebuilt. I'm just diving into the deep dark waters of vintage audio repair so unsure. I know, I'm into self punishment apparently.

Nice. I own these and have restored them. No drivers needing replacement, but did the xover with new Clarity Caps. I had to do the enclosures as well since they were in bad shape. Took over a year at my leisure but the cases came out nice. Like many speaker re-do projects, worked on them, listened for awhile, then put them in storage.

You'll want to tighten those T-nuts holding the woofer in place. They loosen up a lot over time. Of course, then the bolts will stick out too far and hit the grill cloth, so..... Typical expanding project principal.

I have a couple pair and am planning to freshen the electrolytics and wiring.

In the past, I have enjoyed playing with stacked configuration with the upper speaker being inverted. Gven their tweeter array, it seems like it might make for a good tack - I am yet to do it.

I'll look for a service manual and post it if I can find one!

Here's a start, the PDFs are still good.

Thanks I appreciate the info.. It's interesting the pdf's show 8ohm woofers. All the old rectilinear woofers I see say 16 ohm. I didn't know if that was because of the multiple 8 ohm tweeters in series in the speakers.
