I just bought a pair of Rectilinear speakers ($125) - they sound extremely well running off my Yamaha CR-2020. Without the base they measure 12"D * 22"W * 25"H.
The have no model markings on them - just "Rectilinear Research Corp." and serial numbers 16381 and 16395. Having done some research, I suspect they may be Series IIIA ("Lowboy"), but I am not absolutely certain, because:
1) The site:
http://www.oaktreeent.com/Stereo_Speakers.htm
(towards the bottom of the page)
names them "Rectilinear III or IV", and
2) A pair of Series III "Highboys":
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5857250799
look _very_ different from mine in that the grille is completely different (cloth vs. simulated wood) and the emblems are very different, as well.
Can anyone confirm that mine (attached photos) are indeed Series IIIA's, or if not, what series they are?
Thanks!
Njord
