I can't believe you guys didn't mention the sweet Apple II.

Seriously though, good looking Sony receiver. And a United Audio TT I think

Really nice - good catch Nick! I picked some up (and have a thread in the speakers section on this) and they are really sweet after a recap. Still need a little work on a damaged control in the back, and they didn't sound as good with the miniman82-refurbed Sansui 1000A as the Altecs I stumbled into, but they sound phenomenal with the HK 730 I'm running on them. Someone go & git' 'em!

This breaks my "under no circumstances will I go to more estate sales this year and buy more stuff I don't need" resolution, but it looks like some cool gear. Sony from that era was top notch and I've heard good things about those speakers. Somebody could have a worthwhile Saturday morning...(won't be me)....

So which has the higher price tag; the Rectilinears or the Bose :scratch2:

I owned two pair of Rec III Highboys at one time many years ago. Wish I had never sold them and at the very least wish I had kept one pair. For what they cost new they had to be one of the best bangs for the buck in overall sound of just about any speaker of their time. And there were a lot of very fine speakers back the too...............:thmbsp:
