have a pair of old rectilinear speakers. model number on back is M31600. anyone have idea what model they are....maybe Rectilinear 3 book shelf mini's.....
With M in the serial number, those would be the Mini-III's. Three-way bookshelf: 12" x 19" x 9.5", 4 ohm impedance. Great little speakers, built like armored tanks.
thks for all the feedback, will get some pictures and will measure them. will also try and remove the grills and get some pictures of the speakers themselves...regards chuck.
will take picture of them. did measure them and size is 19x12x9 1/4 so asfar as I can tell the must be III model. grill is nailed on so hate to take them off.
Don't risk ruining your speakers if you're not comfortable with this - - - I think Rectilinear grilles were often fastened with several small brads. But this is the only way to get inside, and most likely the caps could benefit from replacement, so if you do decide to proceed, work slowly and with care. And, the "M" in the serial number is used to specifically designate this as the Mini-III, in order to differentiate from the two versions of the model III, a much larger speaker offered in two cabinet configurations.
