Red diode ln26rp for fm stereo ?

Hello guys,
im wondering, what you are using as a replacement for red diode, fm stereo indicator. Original is ln26rp, discontinued. Its 2,2v 20mA diode, so i reckon i can use any in this range. On mouser is available 2v, would it be acceptable? Another question is the shape as the original fits into the tuning plate.

You can use the red LED diode with the slightly different forward voltage drop because the diodes are sourced current through a series resistor, and minor variations in diode forward drop voltage will not change the current much.

physical packaging is the more critical one. So many different shapes and sizes of LED. Need to measure what you have (or find the datasheet) to get one that fits. The voltage and current aren't hugely critical, you should have 10% either way with no issue at all.

You will likely find that you need to significantly reduce the forward current (increase the series R), as modern LEDs are much more efficient than the first, now discontinued devices.

And yes, provided it's just being used as an indicator, you can use any modern LED; you could change colour, if you liked... LEDs are sometimes used for their forward voltage in bias circuits, in which case, a closer match to the original is needed.
