Reference 300R Bias

Hello,

Does anyone have/know the procedure for setting bias on the Reference 300R? I’ve looked through old posts and can’t seem to find what I’m looking for. Additionally, if you happen to have a copy of the schematic, could you share?

Thank you,
Ben

If you post the values for the emitter resistors, someone here will probably be able to do the math and suggest an effective setting.

Or you can always do the optical version, which is run a very low level sinewave signal through the receiver, use a scope to to watch the output and you'll be able to see the notch distortion (wiggle in waveform at the zero crossing point) that occurs when the bias is turned down too low, bump it up from there until the notch disappears and leave it there, don't go higher.

The service documentation on these Reference receivers is next to nil.
