Refoaming Infinity RS-325

Ain't this boogie a mess
I need to replace the foam surrounds on some recently obtained Infinity RS 325. I have been using Aleen's Tacky Glue and flat foam surrounds on other speakers. Do I need to do anything differently with the poly-cone on the Infinity? Does it need a special surround? Thanks for any info.

Have you refoam your infinity?

This would be my first time doing a refoaming project, I have a pair of Infinity RS325 as well. Any tips to share?

Aleen's works well on the poly cones also. I used mid-grade surround when I refoamed of a set of Infinity RS-4B's with poly cones. As long as the surround is the proper size, I think it should be fine.

Many refoaming threads here on AK. It's not a difficult process, just read-up on the procedure, take your time and have fun. Your efforts will be rewarded.

Thank you -reverb-, I started taking pictures after the cleanup stage of my project.

I found a repair kit from Speaker World on e-bay that comes with an "special adhesive SA-300XB" for poly cones.

Old foam was easily disintegrating and this is how they look after removing the plastic ring and all the old foam.

After cleaning up the drivers I have notice the original surround was glued underneath the cone. I don't know yet if should I do the same, or I should better follow the instructions from the repair kit and glue it to the top of the cone. I need more research on this.
 
Aileen's will work fine. Remember the inner foam lip gets attached on the back side of the cone. Great little speakers.

What's the best way to glue the foam to the underside of the cone? This will be my first refoam and looked up videos on refoam jobs but they were all standard style (foam on top of cone ) and I want to make sure I do this right without making a huge mess or messing it up. Thanks for any tips!
