Refoaming KEF 107's

Hello. I've been reading the forums for a few years now to get advice and love the wealth of knowledge from all the members. I have a question I'm hoping you all can help me with. I recently acquired a set of used KEF 107's and the woofers need refoaming. I understand there are two per bass cabinet. I was quoted $390 per cabinet. Is this a reasonable price to pay to have them professionally done? Thanks!

That's a very high price. They're not all that difficult to refoam, I did my pair myself. I would shop around.

A lot of the price may for the labour of taking the woofers out. Anyone doing work for you will charge by the hour and it can add up.

If you are not comfortable doing the refoaming yourself you could still look up the threads here on taking the woofers out, note which goes where and lebel them, and then bring them in for refoaming. You could save a bundle. I have a local guy who charges $10-$20 per driver, though admittedly that is pretty cheap.
