Refoaming with rubber surround

I am having a tough time getting rubber surrounds to glue up to polypropylene or other similar speaker cones.
Has anyone got any good glue suggestions.
I have used aileens and rubber cement and had rather disappointing outcomes.
Aileenes works great if the cone is paper.
Rubber cement works good if the surround is rubber.

Standard contact cement would probably work, although you only get one chance to get it right.

I went through the same process, and finally tried Elmer's Stix-all. Seemed to do the trick.

I ended up using automotive trim adhesive. Works well.

Aileen's tacky glue has worked for well also. One trick is to put a thin bead on both the cone and surround lip, let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then attach together.

There are glues sold by the speaker repair industry. I was given some by an AK member years ago to help me refoam a polycarbonate cone in my ARs. It looked and smelled like model airplane glue.

Aileen's has also worked well for me on poly cones. As mentioned, let it set up a bit before joining the pieces. I also pinch the surround and the cone together all the way around several times as it is setting up just to make sure they are tightly joined.

You're right KingBubba, Simply Speakers sells that kind of adhesive. Smells like model glue and works great! I use it on all the time.
