Rega on/off switch "pop"

I have a Rega RP1 with a Rega Bias 2 cartridge, a Yaqin MS12-B preamp and a Yaqin MS-20L integrated amp. All this powers my Dynaudio bookshelves. Whenever I turn off the turntable I have to turn the volume on the preamp down or I hear a "pop" through the speakers. The guy who sold me the Yaqin amps said he thought it was because the Rega RP1 doesn't have a separate ground wire to run to the Yaqin preamp's ground stud. I asked a Rega distributor contact about how I could add a ground wire to the turntable and he said, "It wouldn't make any difference in the 'pop' because the Rega table is already grounded through the shield of the left channel." I asked if he had any suggestions then, but haven't heard back from him. Can anyone offer any advice on this one? Should I try adding a ground wire? Is it the on/off switch on the table maybe? Any advice would be appreciated.

It's not the ground wire -- most electronics like this have a capacitor across the power switch to suppress the spark/noise. I don't remember off hand but something like a 0.022uF 250V is probably fine. Technically it should be an X2 safety cap.
 
I've used .1uF and .01uf @ 630 and higher voltages on gear power switches.

I noticed on the P2 that rocking the switch on or off faster seems to reduce the loudness of the pop (compared to rocking the switch slowly). You might want to give that a try.

Hmmm... I've never even used a soldering iron before, but I suppose that's why I got into this hobby - because it's hands-on. Pretty intimidating though. I'm sure it's a simple easy thing for you guys, but I have zero experience. Well, looks like I'll have to have my Electrical Engineer friend supervise my effort on this. He worked on the Apollo, Gemini, and Mercury and he's familiar with turntables and tubes. Only problem is I'll have to listen to the following lecture throughout the process, "Why did you buy a turntable? I told you not to do this! Digital sounds better! Tubes are terrible and there's no need for tube rolling since all tubes are the same." Fortunately, I know him well enough to tell him to shut his hole. Ha ha ha! Someday I'd like to build my own simple little tube amp and then move up the ladder to building a really nice tube amp so I guess I have to start somewhere. Maybe if I play my MFL pressing of Beck's "Sea Change" for him that will shut him up.
 
My decade old Rega Planar 2 has always popped with turn on or off. Even after the arm was rewired with the Incognito wiring harness which gave me a seperate ground wire. I have a mute button on my int. amp or I select a different input when I turn the table on or off.
