Right now I'm using the Xonar Essence STX for my Dac which is a card installed in my computer that cost about $200. When I bought this I was using an old vintage pioneer receiver so didn't think it would be worth spending much more than that on a DAC
However now that I have the Rega Elex-R I'm thinking my set up should benefit from a better DAC, So naturally I'm thinking about the Rega dac-r.
As I'm not real experienced with DACs I'd like to know if I'll hear a dramatic improvement from my cheaper computer dac to the dac-r. Is it worth the extra investment?
