Relamping KR-9600

Howdy- I am part way thru new lamps in a KR-9600- I got all the bulbs form dgwojo- great service there by the way- I read threads talking about adding resistors when installing the LED lamps.
I am an electrical idiot- so- do I have to add something to these before I install?
I have done the meters and the function lamps and all seem to be working fine.
All that's left are the dial lamps-
Any advice is appreciated- Thanks Jackson

I assume these lamps are pretty much the same between a multitude of recievers. I have: KR-4600, 7050, 8010 and 8050.I have used a 8-12v warm white or cool white wedge based led replacements. Typical voltage was around 8.7v to the led bulb. So.....did not need a dropping resistor.

On led function indicators, 7050 for example, I used standard water clear leds (slightly blue in color) and inserted a 1/4 w 320 ohm resistor. This dropped the current and voltage to the led.

Google led calculator for a calculator and more descriptive information about the design voltage and current needed for inserting leds where incandescent bulbs were.

Also, I am certain there is plenty more information about this here on AK.

Are you relamping with LED or incandescent? Sounds like incandescent, so it should be a direct swap. LEDs require a resistor so that they behave in the circuit like the incandescent lamps they are replacing. dgwojo can answer if you have specific questions.

Led- for replacement - that are 8v. Thanks for advice- jackson

If they are 8v, they should have the resistors built in. Otherwise it will be a 'flash' followed by darkness.

Thanks- contacted source and they have resistors and rectifiers built in so all is good- no need for additional adds. Learning every day! Thanks all Jackson
