I'm sure many of you Sansui fans have the same problem I have; I love the gear but need a remote control! I have solved the problem.
I use my G8000 daily but wanted to be able to control the volume with a remote. I solved this with a small modern 3 channel preamp - based upon the Texas Instruments PGA2311 chip. Got the whole rig on eBay for about $110 US from China in a nice aluminum enclosure.
The rig allows me to feed 3 different inputs to the G8000 and control the volume from the comfort of my chair. Makes me happy.
