Adding Remote Control

I love my HK 401 vintage integrated amp.The only drawback,is it's lack of
remote capability. Are there any options other than the Creek OBH or Jolida remote control units? Is it possible to modify the amp and add a remote volume
control(all I'm interested in)?

Wish I could help you with this one.

The simple option would be to place the amp close to where you sit and adjust as required...

Chase Technologies RLC-1

Both AR and Chase Technologies made units that would allow one to add remote volume control to older units that did not have this feature. My neighbor uses the AR in his music system and I use the Chase Technologies RLC-1 in my system. The RLC-1 allows me to remotely select from four high level inputs, control volume, balance, bass and treble and power on/off. If you use the search feature on this forum you will find additional posts on this subject.

There is one kinda quick down and dirty way of doing it if your amp has preout/mainin
connections, and that is put a preamp in between there that has a remote.

I have used my little dared guy, 2 channel tube preamp on several receivers.
Just set the volume on the reciever at about half volume or a little less then the
preamp will control volume duties for you. So any preamp you can find with remote
can serve this purpose for you.

In the right setup it can work very well! Cheers!

Sansui made a remote volume control that you could use between the preamp in and out. I have one somewhere.
