Remove tuning knob from SX-1010?

Hi. I would like to get at the pots and switches on my 1010 to give them a good cleaning. Everything comes off fine but there is a plastic sleeve around the tuning knob that prevents the faceplate from coming off. The tuning knob itself is not too big to remove the faceplate. In fact the whole thing will come out over the tuning knob for about 1/4 inch at which point the plastic sleeve holds firmly in place. There are 2 holes on the tuning knob that do not respond to hex keys. Shining a light inside shows no screw heads at all. Does anyone know how to get this off? Everything else comes off fine, the set screws ect.

I just assembled both my SX-1010 yesterday and tightened the Tuning knob with a hex wrench. I don't remember which size I used but it worked.

On my SX-1010 there was a single hex setscrew (think I used a 2mm key) holding the tuning knob to the shaft. When this was loosened it allowed the tuning knob to be removed. The plastic sleeve could then be slid off the shaft.

Hope this helps.
