Removing Harman Kardon HK-20 Grill Covers?

Chip - HP

Super Member
Picked up a pair of Harman Kardon HK-20 speakers this morning ... but I haven't figured out how to get the grill covers off (I am guessing that they are glued on ... but I don't want to force them) ... anyone had any experience with these? ...

Borrowed the pics from eBay ...

BTW mine have screw pole connections ... as well as the plug connection shown in the eBay pic ...

My HK-40 grills were attached with brads. They should pry right off.

When you say ... brad ... is it a "U" shaped brad? ... or a nail like brad? ... examining the corners of the cover with a flashlight, I can't see any evidence of a brad ...

Finally got the covers off ... mine were attached with four 5/8" 2-pronge "U" shaped brads ... pulled the woofer on one ... the following number was on the back ...

13523356

24 6911

Maybe Nov. '69 ? ...

I just gave away a pair of the little brother HK-10s a few weeks ago. My grills were held in with brads, and I could pry them off and slip them back on almost like a regular removable cover :D

What do you think of the sound? The single-driver setup in the HK-10s was thoroughly unimpressive, although the cabinet construction seemed solid.

Me too. Yard sale. This morning.
I think they sound very very nice.
Great shape too I think.

One grill pried off easy in the van.
The next I just left as is after noticing the brads.
I'll let the next owner futz with that one.

Driven by a little old lady. Mary Lou.
Those are my favorites buys.
lol

Ain't researched value yet.
No rush.
Any thought$?

Hello BTW.
