Removing Light Scuffs and Scratches from Wilson Audio Sophias

The speakers were bought used and need some TLC. Best way to start to remove fingerprints, very light surface scratches and light scuffs. Would like to start out with the least aggressive method of removing the surface marks and work my way from there.

Anybody have specific experience with Wilson Audio speakers painted in high gloss black? My understanding is Wilson Audio uses a automotive paint with a clear coat finish.

There are no deep scratches or gouges that penetrate the paint. Help please!

Id go out to harbor freight buy a rotary buffer/sander for $30 or find a good brand at pawn shop
Harbor freight pads
Polishing compound
Rubbing compound if worse than expected
Swirl remover polish

Read up on auto buffing
Go to town

Practice on a painted surface to learn how to burn
And how not to

Wilson Sophia 1 used Dura Chrome by Dupont .. Its easily buffed with a three M scratch remover and polished with Mcquires fine swirl and a sponge pad on a wheel . Move fast and feather out

You will have to purchase a good buffing machine (read not cheap), preferably variable speed, different pads and polishing compounds to do it right. It might be cheaper and definitely easier/safer take them to a body shop and have them do it.

ALL Dura Chrome was custom.. Any color can be mixed.. It was what they used on them ...Besides Bass/ clear in any brand can be buffed !

Do you have a friend who likes to detail their car ? Chances are they have a Porter Cable, don't go buy a rotary you'd do more harm than good.
