Repairing cracked plastic on faceplate

I don’t know if this has been discussed, I’m positive it has….. so this kenwood clear plastic faceplate has a dent crack and the way it fits forces the plastic to offset leaving a shelf of plastic very noticeable. My first thought was superglue along the backside after notching or not notching the crack…. But AI says to use a fine needle point syringe with actual chemical welding glue. I’m just curious how this has been handled and what the aggravate wisdom on this task is. Clear tape? A second identically shaped panel bonded to the first?
