? replace a Nagoaka MP30 cartridge stylus or... Just wondering whether this is a good cartridge, it sounds ok, I am pretty sure the needle should be replaced, it came on a Panta 340 with the straight variable length tonearm.
anyone familiar with it? is it as good as a M95e? M97? thoughts?

That is an excellent cartridge, if you can afford a replacement stylus the jn-p300 is the modern equivalent. It is not cheap though. This stylus is for the modern day mp-300 which is one step down from the top of the line MP-500.

I would think this would be in a whole other league than an m95e or m97.
 
The MP30 is great. Nagaoka has just added one zero to the modern lineup. So the MP10 is now the MP100, and so forth. If you put a new 300 stylus on that cart, you should be all set.
