I just got a Fairchild 412-1A in pretty good condition. It was playing records fairly well until I tried to clean one with the record spinning, at which point the long belt fell off the platter. I think the belt must be old and stretched out, because it comes off at the slightest provocation.
So I figure I need a new belt. Unfortunately, the usual suppliers like Needle Doctor and LPtunes are out of stock. Does anyone know what the specifications of the belt are? It seems there are two types in the 35.1 inch length.
FRL35.1 has inner circumference of 35.1", width of 0.240", and thickness of 0.023"
FRX35.1 has inner circumference of 35.1", width of 0.184", and thickness of 0.035"
Which is the correct one?
Thanks for any info.
