Replacement Dust Cover for Yamaha YP-B2

Hey all,

I’m in the process of refurbing an old Yamaha YP-B2 turntable. Mine has a broken dust cover and I’d like to replace it. It’s my understanding that Yamaha YP-B2, YP-B4, YP-D4, and YP-211 turntables all have compatible covers but I can’t find any.

My question is: do you know of any turntable models with compatible dust covers?

I came across a post by another member in this thread (http://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/pioneer-pl-600-smashed-lid.788200/) of a YP-B2 they outfitted with a non-Yamaha cover. I posted in it hoping to find out what model TT it came from. If I get a response I'll definitely let you know.

JMK Displays in NY makes new dustcovers at reasonable prices. At least they used to do so. Google is your friend.

Ok so I took some measurements of my other table, a Pioneer PL-518, just out of curiosity. The hinges are an exact match. As in I took the dust cover off of my PL-518 and the hinges slid right into the brackets of my YP-B2. The dust cover itself is roughly .006-.009” shorter (front to back) than the original Yamaha cover, but it fits perfectly otherwise. That means a Pioneer PL-518 and I believe also Pioneer models PL-500, 512, 516, 540, 560, 112D, 115D, and 117D should all theoretically have similarly compatible dust covers. Good luck finding a replacement for yours!
