Replacement speakers

Howdy, i have a pair of Kenwood KL-7080's. The have a couple of blown tweeters and a blown horn. The original tweets were Trio T14-005-15, 16 ohm, 30w max 2 1/2". The horn is a Trio T14-0011-05 8 ohm, 40w, 3" x 7". I would like to replace these with something as close to the original as I can find. I can locate 8 ohm tweets all day long but am having problems finding a 16 ohm match. Please help!

You may need the Thiel/Small parameters for each of the blown ones. Match the numbers and you are 99% of the way there

Are there one or two of the 16 ohm tweeters in each cabinet?

If it's two per cabinet, you can use two 4 ohm tweeters wired in series, to replace the two 16 ohm tweeters (which were wired in parallel). That will give you the correct impedance... two ohm drivers in series gives 8 ohms, same as two 16 ohm drivers in parallel...

If there's only one 16 ohm tweeter, then you need to either find the correct 16 ohm type, or use a more efficient (than the original- higher dB rating at 1w) 8 ohm tweeter and put a 5 to 8 ohm (whatever sounds best) in series with it, to make it ACT like a 16 ohm tweeter...

I have checked the links at the bottom of the page and could not locate a 16 ohm replacement. I have considered wiring two 4 ohm in series, but am concerned what it will sound like next to it's mate that still has two 16 ohm in // ? I thought that maybe someone reading this forum might have a supplier for these oddball replacements.

The best plan would be to just replace both tweeters, in both speakers, with 4 ohm units. Trying to find an exact replacement of these is probably futile...
