Replacement Stylus or Different Cartridge? (AT-12E)

Hey Guys!

I snagged a Technics SL-D2 today for $60 on FB. The TT came with a AT-12E i wanted to see what would be the best option?

Should I keep this cartridge and get a style (If someone can point me to one). Or should I go another direction like a Grado perhaps?

Thanks AK Fam!

The AT-12E is a very decent cartridge. I own one along with a variant of the AT-14S. It's an older cart from the 1970's. There are several eliptical stylus options still available. I've just ordered an LPGear blue for mine:

They're all under $60. I'd say it's a keeper. You can find a manual at the vinyl engine website.
I've also owned a Grado Blue 3 that's in that price range. I prefer the Audio Technica's for their fuller, warmer sound.

Stereoneedles.com has Audio Technica styli. Any of them in the "A" or "B" group will work with that cartridge. Be sure to notice whether a particular stylus is in stock or not. I would get the ATN12XE, myself. I had an AT12XE cartridge several years ago which I gave to my daughter and it was very good.
