I have a pair of Mirage SM2 speakers with Polydax woofers that are shot. Both voice coils have corroded and they are going to cost more to repair than to replace. I have not for the life of me, been able to find the specs on the speakers. The closest I've come is finding specs on Mirage SM2.5's which might be very different than mine. I've tested both cabs with another cheap 8ohm woofer I had lying around and everything else seems to be working.
I'm trying to source decent replacement woofers and the closest I've come so far is a pair of Bowers & Wilkins DW200/4's from a set of DM4's. The size, wattage, ohm's and cone material (bextrene) all match but I'm concerned I might get these and there might be an issue with compatibilty.
I've also considered getting a pair of KEF B200 SP1014 that I found as well. Again, same size and ohms but I'm not sure about the wattage.
Any advice or expertise would be appreciated.
