Can you roll the last, or audio output tube in the tuner, without changing the tuner alignment?
An example being the 12AX7 audio output on the Dynaco FM-3, or more specifically in this case, the 12AU7 on the Sherwood tuners such as S2100 or S3000V? I'm thinking that this tube could be changed without affecting the alignment. The previous multiplex integrator tube, at least on the Dynaco, probably would change the alignment.
I just got a beautiful Sherwood S2100, my first AM/FM stereo to join my collection of a Sherwood S3000V FM stereo and Sherwood S2000 AM/FM mono tuners. It sounds as nice as I expected
It will be worth sending off for an alignment, but wanted to make sure I didnt need to change out that last 12AU7 audio output tube to something better than the RCA12AU7 made in Mexico tube that is in there! The rest of the tubes are primarily Sherwood labeled Brimar.
