Replacing diaphragm on EV 1824M driver

I need to replace the diaphragms on a pair of EV 1824M drivers. One of the originals is fried so I thought to replace both.

My question is, is the diaphragm self-aligning for installation? I see a few ridges on the driver's metal cap to accommodate the diaphragm's suspension, presumably that makes them self-aligning.

Second question is, I don't see any marking on the original diaphragm to indicate terminal polarity (these diaphragms have tinsel leads) and I haven't ordered replacements yet. Is there a way to be certain of the correct polarity during installation?

Many thanks for any help or tips on how to properly replace the diaphragms.

Very easy to replace. You really can't do it wrong. PM me if you need help or even if you need diaphragms. I have several originals.
 
I replaced both diaphragms for EV 1823M yesterday, but there seems to be some kind of problem since the other one is playing much louder. Could it just be a bad diaphragm ?
