Replacing Headshell Tonearm Nut on Tech SL-1200MK2

When I attach a headshell to the tonearm of my Technics SL-1200MK2 the headshell is still loose and can twist. I believe the nut or collar is stripped and needs to be replaced. Is it possible to just replace the nut or do I have to buy a whole new tonearm? Thx for info.

There are two small screws on the underside of the arm near where the headshell attaches. Have you tried tightening those?

If There loose as Stewy said try tightening them and if they don't tighten as they should try a tiny bit of super glue on the screw thread. I had an arm like yours that kept coming loose did the super glue trick and presto tight as she could be. But make sure you have the head shell level before tightening.

Thanks for info. The screws were loose and I tightened and solved the problem. had to remove the tonearm which is not easy
