Replacing phono cable for Technics SL-23

crazy-in-az

Uhhhh....
The cable on my Technics SL-23 has a short in it. You have to keep the cable twisted just right to get a signal from the left channel. I have read of people removing the hardwired phono cables and installing RCA jacks to make it easier to replace or swap cables in the future.

What would you recommend- getting a decent phono cable and hardwiring it, or adding RCA jacks? I have a good phono cable that I used with my U-Turn Audio Orbit TT that sounds great, I just don't know the brand (found in a box of stuff at a thrift store).
