My take is that it could be done, if you re-engineer the bias, and if you could find suitable Ge outputs. I'm curious as to whether you have found any candidates for the outputs?

If you are looking to add the germanium sound, it would be easier and more stable to build a germanium pre-amp or filter or fuzz box to put the germanium effects into the line signal. Then amp it to power with the stock Crown amp.
