Replacing VU Meter Wheatstone R55E

So unfortunately the meterbridge assembly on my radio station's Wheatstone R55E console was swung up at one point and fell back down and since that moment one of the VU meters has been stuck. The needle is just resting in one place and will not move — the other one is still responsive. I think it needs to just be replaced but before I go down the path of buying a replacement I wanted to gauge how easy this repair will be. Can someone with little to no soldering iron experience replace this VU meter (me)? Or do I need to find outside help? Any advice is much appreciated. More info can also be provided as needed.

I would suggest that you get someone to look at it. The meter may be O.K or may have been damaged by another fault, in which case, replacing it would likely just damage the new one. in much the same way. It could just be the driver circuits that have failed in which case the meter itself may be undamaged.
