Report Problems with Ads Here!

Add creep... Over time the adds have become more invasive. The adds now are covering content and even covering the whole screen. Adds between post are doubling in size replacing content. The quality of the user experience here has degraded. Is this driven by the desire for more revenue?

Because of certain default settings which are turned on in people's devices they are much more exposed to advertising and security vulnerabilities. I recommend searching on the internet for ways to minimise data leakage and maximise data privacy for both one's device plus the internet browser and the search engine.

If you have never visited the settings for your browser and search engine, you really really need to understand why it is important to modify certain default settings in both. Don't forget to investigate which default settings to turn off to maximise data privacy and minimise data leakage on your devices also. Optimising the settings on one's devices, browsers and search engines goes a long way to minimising one's threat exposure and maximising the kind of protection which follows understanding which 'convenience features' in your life are compromising your security.

View ad to continue

Doing that opens up a full page ad with a "close" button

Hitting the close button opens a new site. Hitting the back button reloads that page.

Not happening. I choose the sites I visit.
This is ridiculous....there is NO REASON for someone to have to fight ads to use this site.....and they shouldn't have to jump through hoops, stand on their head and reformat their whole computer to use it either. I can see this is not going to end up well. @KevinJS has been here for quite some time....

Knowledge is Power. Choosing defiant ignorance and expecting the real world to acquiesse to your mindset, then complaining about the result is like beating one's head against a wall and blaming the wall.

Does anyone think that ads are either going to go away or that regulators have your rights versus big business as their top priority? If the answer is: No, you need to gain some understanding and ASSIST YOURSELF to switch off default settings on your devices, browsers and search engines which make you see ads and which undermine your security and privacy.

Putting your head in the sand, complaining and saying it is too complicated do not acheive anything but more of what is annoying you.

Some reading this thread on this and every other site see ZERO ads. If you want to do nothing and understand nothing expect that your woes will continue and probably get worse as time goes by.

First off....I don't have issues with ads....I have that RED banner under my name that says I don't get ads. I was speaking up for someone else....so get off you soap box.
Second....we never had issues with ads here before....so what you are saying is the ads just appear out of nowhere??? If the site makes revenue off them, they need to state somewhere they do and if you wish to opt out of the ads, subscribe.
Third...I would be aggravated if I had to go to three other sites prior to seeing what I came her for. So if you are saying put an ad blocker on to not see ads...doesn't that defeat the purpose of those ads to AK? Are you not blocking AK from making funds from the ads???

First off people with the subscriber banner are complaining about the ads. Not just non subs.

Second. We all live in a world where at one time ads didn't exist. Well now they do and who could deny that they are becoming more prevalent and will continue to become more prevalent as more time passes. They will not go away.

Third The device, browser and search engine settings are persistent. Do the work once reap the benefit for a long time. Not everytime one visits any site.

Being dramatic and throwing a tantrum does not change anything.

Just got this. Not sure it's really directed towards me, at least not yet and wrong sex. Seems maybe directed towards the site owner?

Couldn't do anything with the site until I clicked the close button.

Looks like a helluva product maybe I ought to try'em out just to let everyone here at AK know how they worked.

One has to be careful here. When the ratio of ad content to content is this high, facebook groups are the next click.

It seems tolerable for me using my old pixel 6a, have to delete the initial start up ad, which is new but after that I am good to go. I am not a subscriber, probably should pay me for all the free advise I give to the community. Finding over the years there are less knowledgeable folks around giving advise.
So many times it's folks messing with stuff that works and then not knowing how to fix the mistakes they make.
No way in hell will I get a Facebook account.
