Requesting New Manufacturers Forum for HH Scott?

Audiokarma has previously nixed the idea.

I'm pretty sure we would continue to see posts about HH Scott on various boards, so a Scott board would be pointless. We have too many boards as it is.

The independent company lasted 25 years, still significant.

I forget who own the Scott name, but may in the future be back. Look at Hamilton Watch Company, or Maybach auto.

@Dr Morbius

This is about as close as you're going to get

It seems absurd to create a new forum for a brand whose heyday was 50 years ago. it seems more reasonable to create a subforum for interesting and emerging brands like Schiit Audio, who create interesting and innovative products, have a devoted following and would bring new and invigorated traffic to the site. a sub-forum for a dead brand, whose products and devotees are dwindling in numbers adds zero value to the community here.

If we cannot have a Sony forum (a company larger than all the other manufacturer forums combined) then I see little hope for a Scott forum (which, like Marantz & Fisher, is just an Asian-owned marketing name today).

Even though I'm an HH Scott collector, I can't see a dedicated sub-forum being warranted. Although to be fair, I don't understand why any brand needs it's own sub-forum. From what I've seen, posting in General Audio Discussion, or any of the equipment specific forums, will generate more views than posting in a manufacturer specific sub-forum.

Is it possible to get an HH Scott category in the manufacturers forum? I mean they were a big outfit with great products and lasted a while (50 or so years?).

Just wondering…….

I agree, Scott was a significant contributor to HiFi

At the time, I believe their tube gear was considered the equal of McIntosh.
Their designs were and still are considered to be some of the most attractive designs in the industry.

Scott is historically significant,
and should have the comments searched, and copied over to a Scott thread.
And an effort made to round up all of the photos, designs, schematics etc.....

There are I believe some Scott blogs and web sites, but like many of us the owners aren't getting younger, and they may be glad to gift their hard work to an ongoing site.

Too many brand sub forums already; some people seldom come out of particular sub forums and posts that would be of general interest aren't seen.

Hi Malden, the link triple20 posted is an active link. Have you tried the old "log out and then back in" to see if that clears something and gets the link to work for you ?
this is what comes up:
