Restoration Parts Recommended Sellers?

DesertRatt

All Bark, No Bite!
Hi Folks,
Just received my Pioneer SA-9100 yesterday and while it works fine I intended to do a restoration. I was going to roll my own patty's list but then I noticed lots of sellers on the auction site has full lot kits for sale. Like all things in life, I assume some kits and sellers are better than others. If you have a recommendation for a good kit seller let me know!
Cheers!

Peace, Love and Music is a member here and a trusted seller there. No direct experience, but a lot of good feedback here.

It's a lot cheaper to make your own list and buy from Mouser or Digikey.
Mouser's site is easier to navigate for me personally. Ebay can be a crap shoot. You don't know if your getting capacitors near there end of life, counterfeits, etc. I just don't order electrolytic caps from ebay myself.
I got burned years ago the very first time ordering a couple caps from ebay.
You might however ask in the Pioneer forum here on AK about sellers that can be trusted.
Maybe ask to have this thread moved to the Pioneer forum also.

PeaceLuv seller. Best for instructions and hints. Fairly complete part list usually. May have parts you cannot get anywhere else. Mhead is fine if you want a more minimal resto, and no actual instructions. Both of these are very reasonable for what they sell. One other seller I have seen a kit from personally, it simply did not compare to these two sellers. I buy some from the first two sellers, I've found the kits to be a big time saver for me if it's the first time on working on a unit. When I place an order I look through their ebay store, often lots of things I can use (like transistors out of print) and you can combine shipping.

I do have direct experience with peacelovemusic and he can absolutly be trusted. You will of course pay more for the parts but if you don't feel like spending the time picking them yourself he's the one you want to buy from.

another vote for peace.love.music.

his parts markup is not bad at all when you consider the time it takes to go look for parts and 1/2 the time making 2 orders because one place doesn't have everything in stock.

his shipping is also cheaper than most.
