Restored SX-1280 Is Doing Duty As Daily Driver Now

Big Tuna

Too Much Power!
I removed my SX-1250 after many years of service and replaced it with my restored SX-1280. The 1280 sounds just sweet as can be on my HD77's. Nice solid bass, with toned, clear mids, and high notes that don't roll off within our range of hearing at all. When I watch movies with things blowing up and action scenes, it is superbly detailed to the point of not being able to distinguish real live sound from it. Just the way I like it.

My poor old 1250 is in it's original condition and was beginning to exhibit signs of it's age with a sort of anemic sound, lacking definition or real solid bass, plus the heat sinks were getting pretty hot, so, I took it out of service until such time can be derived for me to have my local tech restore it, but I'll probably have my 1980 gone through first. I just didn't want my 1250 to be used to the point of something happening to it, and I'm glad I got my 1280 in it's place.......for now.

Nice

Great enjoy. You have nice collection. Love Pioneers from that period. Worked on a 1980 awhile back. Tried to buy it. What beast. Blew a tweeter on my bench L100's. Custumer said everyone wants it. Picked up a 850 instead. Great hobby. Enjoy.
