Restoring a Pioneer TX-9500

Hello fellow AKers,

I'm finally starting to renovate my TX-9500. In the process of taking the capacitor census, I noticed the soldered-on shield plate at the end of the IF board. I would appreciate any advice on how to remove the shield, replace the caps, and then replace the shield without incinerating the board. Some photos of the situation:

Using a hot iron 700F + with a big tip. Pre tin with some new solder to get some flux on the joints. Solder suck as much as you can to remove solder. Will have to pry and separate the metal from the pcb, one section at a time. The plate is too big for a heat gun. Cut the tie wraps on the wires and move as far away from the heat as possible
