Really looking forward to this! They added a show right here in Mesa! The addition of Ponty was a great move and replacing Di Meola was another good move. Gambale will work well in Al's place without the attitude.

RTF in the Hult Center?! Oh, man. That is one nice sounding room. Very very tempted. :scratch2:
Worth the 2hr drive South. I'm gonna ask for that Friday off today.

I'm seriously tempted by the show in San Diego at Humphreys Half-Moon, my favorite place to stay down there. That venue is a tiny outdoor amphitheater, very nice. It's a Monday night though.

Oh wow!
Thanks for sharing this, I'm so glad they decided to add Ponty onto the tour with them.
Saw a video of him playing with them on youtube, and it's oh so perfect.
I guess I'll just have to drive a few hours to Houston.
Well worth it.:thmbsp:

the opportunity to attend a live performance with this level of across the board virtuosity doesn't present itself many times in the course of a lifetime. I'd be very surprised if seeing this bunch perform doesn't prove to be a landmark event for most that are fortunate enough to partake. Expect magic.

I cant seem to find any info on the show on Ticketmaster,or on the Mesa Arts website.Hopefully, coming soon! Thanks for the heads up.

The Detroit stop is at Meadowbrook, its an outdoor venue that I've really enjoyed in the past.I saw Bela Fleck,Stanley Clarke,& Jean-Luc Ponty there a few years ago.

In other words...not Chicago. Oh well.

With all the beautiful venue's in Chicago & they end up in Hammond is ridiculous. I've heard rumours about how expensive it is to put on a show in Chicago with all the taxes & fees etc. and groups are playing around it like in Champaign, Milwaukee & such, but Hammond. :thumbsdn:

Hi Jimmy, I spoke with Mesa Center for the Arts & they begin presale tickets on May 19 & they go on sale to the general public about 3-4 weeks later. Presale is for VIP packages, meet & greets etc. & front row seats & so on. They did that at The Dodge when the RTF reunion played there a couple years ago. She really doesn't know exactly. It's going to be a great place for a show! :thmbsp:

You might have to leave your fangs at home though :D

Nothing near me. Dweezil Zappa Plays Zappa as an opening act is awesome.

I've never seen Weather Report in the 70's. Know a lot of Pontys stuff too. Have never seen him either.

Got my tickets for RTF!!!

Saturday, Sept. 17th. 6th row orchestra pit, left of center!!!

The very first time I saw them was in 1975 on a double bill with Weather Report in Chi-Town.
